Campaign to cast Tanis Parenteau as Johanna Mason in the film sequels to _The Hunger Games_

I’m standing off to the side, clapping to the rhythm, when a bony hand pinches me above the elbow. Johanna scowls at me. “Are you going to miss the chance to let Snow see you dancing?” She’s right.

“Go ahead. Try it. I don’t care if you are knocked up, I’ll rip your throat out,” says Johanna.

“[Johanna] won by very convincingly portraying herself as weak and helpless so that she would be ignored. Then she demonstrated a wicked ability to murder.”

Can’t you just see her hurling an axe into the Cornucopia?

This tumblr exists for the express purpose of campaigning for Tanis Parenteau to be cast as Johanna Mason in the film sequels to The Hunger Games.

Johanna is from District 7, the lumber-producing district of Panem that is most likely located in the northwestern U.S. and southern parts of the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. Johanna has dark brown eyes and hair and throws axes. Personally, I really like the idea of an indigenous Johanna.

Tanis Parenteau is a Métis actress from Alberta. She’s incredibly athletic and trained in stage combat.

Please note that I am not in any way affiliated with Lionsgate, Francis Lawrence, Suzanne Collins, Scholastic or anyone working on the films. I am not officially affiliated with Tanis Parenteau, though I have been in contact with her as part of this campaign.
